Banyak dari kita ingin sekali adanya perubahan termasuk perubahan dari pola pikir lama menuju pola pikir yang lebih baru tentang bagaimana guru mengajar yang lebih baik sesuai kebutuhan siswa.
Kita tidak menafikan jika selama ini dominan metode (paling umum) yang digunakan guru saat mengajar adalah ceramah, selain disuksi dan tanya jawab. Tentu, hal yang digunakan guru tersebut adalah benar, namun apakah sebagian besar siswa merasa “bahagia dan nyaman” ketika siswa belajar dengan metode ceramah atau metode itu-itu saja? Marilah kita flashback kembali, ketika kita mengalami proses belajar di mana sang guru berceramah dari assalamu’alaikum/selamat pagi sampai wassalamu’alaikum/sampai ketemu besok, kebanyakan dari kita adalah tidak merespons dengan baik, kita mungkin menunjukkan dengan bercerita di belakang dengan siswa lain, kita menulis kalimat tertentu yang sering kali diucapkan guru secara berulang sampai kita menyimpulkan telah 50x guru itu mengatakan “ya” selama ia mengajar, atau kita menggambar wajah guru dengan sedikit parodi. Benar-benar terjadi… bahwa saat guru mengajar (kita sebagai siswa) belum tentu belajar. Ini mengacaukan kita untuk berproses menjadi pandai.
Dalam penelitian-penelitian pengajaran terkini, yang dimulai dari Dr. Georgi Lozanov, setelah ia sukses mengembangkan accelerated learning di Bulgaria, sampai padanannya quantum learning yang sukses diterapkan di Super Camp oleh Bobbi Deporter. Semua penelitian pengajaran tersebut telah dipraktikkan di beberapa negara Eropa, Amerika, dan sebagian Asia. Hasil penelitian yang kami kutip dari Adi W. Gunawan (2004); bahwa pengajaran guru yang berbasis kerja otak, kekuatan memori, neuro-linguistic rogramming, motivasi, konsep diri, kepribadian, emosi, perasaan, pikiran, metakognisi,gaya belajar, kecenderungan kecerdasan jamak (multiple intelligences) dan modalitas belajar dan lain-
nya menjadi basic power untuk siswa belajar sampai pada tingkatan … ahaa aku paham. Dalam situasi ini, cara guru mengajar sama dengan cara siswa belajar menjadikan pelajaran mudah dimengerti.
